The Appellate Practice Group is devoted exclusively to civil appellate law.

Led by Ruth Malinas, who is Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, the Appellate Practice Group handles appeals and original proceedings in state and federal appellate courts, providing support in all aspects of litigation.

The use of appellate attorneys for important motions in litigation allows our firm to more effectively protect the clients’ interests at every stage of the process. Our attorneys routinely prepare and present pretrial and dispositive motions, jury charges, and post-trial motions.

The Appellate Practice Group is responsible for all appeals originating within the firm and regularly handles cases tried by other law firms as well. Our attorneys also represent clients who choose to present amicus briefs in noteworthy cases.

Members of this practice group are licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court; Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals; United States District Courts in the Western, Eastern and Southern Districts of Texas; and all state appellate and district courts in Texas.
