The Labor and Employment Practice Group includes lawyers with extensive experience defending employers in labor and employment disputes in federal and state courts, as well as related administrative agencies. These include:
- Allegations of race, sex, national origin, age, religious, and disability discrimination arising under both federal and state law
- Wage payment claims, including those arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act
- Wrongful discharge, harassment, whistleblower, and retaliation claims
Since many claims may be easily avoided (or subsequently defended) if clients understand their legal responsibilities, our lawyers take a proactive approach to solving employment disputes. We consult with employers on a regular basis on matters related to employment contracts, policy manuals, equal employment opportunities, harassment-free work environments, drug testing, privacy, extended absences from work, discipline, and discharge.
