| 2009 Woodrow B. Seals Laity Award given to Larry Warren | | 3/19/2009 | | Congratulations to firm President and Shareholder Larry D. Warren of Ball & Weed P.C., a regional trial firm based in San Antonio, Texas upon his selection as the recipient of the 2009 Woodrow B. Seals Laity Award, given by the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. The Seals Award is given annually to a layperson who embodies the Christian faith and commitment of service to Christ as exemplified by Judge Woodrow B. Seals. Selection for the award is made by a committee of the Perkins Lay Advisory Board. Warren was recognized for his active role in his local church (University United Methodist Church), as well as his ongoing efforts on behalf of exploited children worldwide through the International Justice Mission (IJM). In this capacity, Warren has served on teams to free child laborers in South Asia, address child prostitution issues in The Philippines and lead fundraising efforts on behalf of IJM in the San Antonio area. Warren has also served as pro bono legal counsel for the Medina Children’s Home and is active in other local charities. Warren maintains an active trial practice on behalf of his clients and has been recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer for 2006 – 2008 as well as one of San Antonio’s Best Civil Litigation Attorneys for 2007 and 2008 as determined by surveys of practicing attorneys conducted by Scene in San Antonio magazine. | | |
